Intensive training. Breadth of legal assistance.
As the District’s oldest law school clinical program, few other legal services organizations can offer our intensive training or breadth of legal assistance. Our attorneys are licensed, trained, and experienced to take cases at the local, federal, appellate, and administrative levels. Our excellent training model has resulted in numerous reported successes at both the trial and appellate levels.
Our clients have included persons with disabilities, women, children, veterans, and individuals unable to obtain legal assistance otherwise. Our organization is privileged to litigate on behalf of low-income District residents in the areas of housing and criminal justice reform.
We are enthusiastic about achieving even more success by expanding our services to the public through partnerships like our Pro Bono Program. Opportunities for training and service are available with:
- Housing Conditions Court
- The LSIC Expungement Clinic (read more)
We are pleased to see the positive responses by attorneys whom we have mentored in the program who all bring a genuine desire to help some of the District’s poorest residents.
We hope to welcome you to the LSIC family and share the great rewards that this public service provides.
